Local Partnership: Maddalena for sport

July 21st, 2022

We present a report on the first part of the season of the Libertas Grions Remanzacco women’s team, a virtuous reality that makes sport a social occasion and always achieves great results. Maddalena S.p.A. has been supporting the achievements of these virtuous girls for two years, emphasising the Local Partnership.

The young athletes had to juggle school commitments and training in order to reach the various standards of participation in national competitions. Here they are during their training with the Maddalena S.p.A. T-shirts handed out on World Water Day 2022.

Relay Results

The relays, which have always been the club’s strong point and testify to the goodness of a project beyond the individual qualities of the athletes, brought the best results. In the 4 x 100 m, the team, composed of Mia Cozzi, Jennifer Fracastoro, Margherita Petrussa and Alice Beltramini, came 2nd in the region with the standard for the Allievi Italian Championships in Milan. During the tricolour event, however, an error in the passing of the baton unfortunately disqualified the team that had achieved an excellent 15th position.

In another 4 x 100 m Absolute relay, the team, with the addition of Veronica De Eccher in place of Mia Cozzi, won the Libertas Italian Championships in Pistoia, after finishing 2nd in the region. The girls will be honoured for this result by CONI President Malagò in Rome together with the other Libertas national champions next autumn.

Individual Results

Instead from an individual point of view, the results of Alice Beltramini, overall regional runner-up in the 200 m with a new time of 25.60, who then came 20th in Italy at the Allievi championships in Milan and Libertas Italian runner-up over the same distance. Veronica de Eccher, also 20th in Italy in the javelin at the Italian Junior Championships in Rieti and now close to the 40 m mark. Giorgia Treppete, 2nd at the Allievi Regional Championships with a new time of 2:23.76. Margherita Petrussa 3rd at the Libertas Italian Championships in the 200 m. Considering the regional speed championships, three silver and two bronze medals were won, with three athletes in the top 10 in the region, which is no small feat for a small local sports club.

In conclusion many thanks to the technicians and management who believe in this project.

Good luck girls for the second half of the season!
