Maddalena S.p.A. introduces the role of the company butler

We talk about “reconciliation services”, “work-life balance”, “reconciling home and family life”, “company benefits”, “leisure services” or more commonly “employee benefits”. But what is the meaning of employee benefits? They include all those non-monetary services offered by companies to their employees with the aim of improving their well-being and quality of life. These services are highly coveted by employees and often make a difference in successfully engaging new talent.

What is the company butler?

The ‘company butler‘ is just one of a wide range of employee benefits that has been adopted by many large companies. This person’s job is to take care of bureaucratic, administrative or general tasks of a private nature on behalf of employees. Hence, the main purpose of the company butler is to improve employees’ use of time by taking care of everyday tasks that are incompatible with working hours, and thus helping them to maintain a proper work-life balance.

Maddalena S.p.A. started trialling the company butler service in October 2022. This new figure will be able to carry out various services for all employees, from dealing with bureaucratic tasks, on- and off-line administration and paperwork, services relating to the family and personal sphere, right through to caring for the home or personal belongings.

The Corporate Butler project is just one of several projects in Maddalena S.p.A.’s social sustainability programme, introduced to improve its employees’ work-life balance.

This project was made possible thanks to the approval and launch of a wider, national programme, #Conciliamo, created with the contribution of the Italian Government’s Department for Family Policies. The call to participate was launched prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, with the aim of taking concrete steps to relaunch employee welfare in this country. One of the projects approved and launched this summer under the umbrella of the #Conciliamo programme was the Intercompany Summer Camp, implemented in partnership with the companies ICOP and Martina S.r.l.

Alongside other sustainable companies in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Maddalena S.p.A. is proud to add another important page to its catalogue of employee benefits.
