On 29 September 2025, Maddalena S.p.A. took part for the first time in the AMIOT Conference – Accelerating Massive IoT, an international event held at the Cubex Center in Prague, which brought together experts and industry leaders to explore the evolution of Smart Cities, Smart Metering, and IoT technologies driving the digital transformation of public services.
NB-IoT: the key to smarter and more sustainable water management
Representing Maddalena was Valerio Carta, Head of IoT Business Development, who presented the company’s latest innovations in smart water metering, focusing on ElecTo SONIC — the compact ultrasonic meter equipped with an electronic register and multiprotocol connectivity (wM-Bus, LoRaWAN, and NB-IoT).
Thanks to its integrated NB-IoT communication, the device enables:
Reliable remote readings, even in complex environments
Timely leak detection and accurate consumption monitoring
Improved operational efficiency and enhanced data security
Reduction of environmental impact, supporting utilities’ sustainability goals
Digitalization is not just about collecting data — it’s about turning data into knowledge and knowledge into action.
NB-IoT technology is one of the key enablers of the digital transition in the water sector: reliable, scalable, and energy-efficient, it is designed to last over time and to meet the challenges of modern network management.
Participation in Massive IoT 2025 reaffirms Maddalena’s commitment to promoting interoperable and sustainable solutions, capable of combining technological innovation, reliability, and the creation of shared value for utilities and communities.
