The new production plant

EXPANSION OF THE PLANT

In 2019, one hundred years after its foundation, Maddalena S.p.A. completed an expansion of the production building, becoming the site with the largest production capacity in Europe under one single roof. The numbers speak for themselves: A production area that has reached 15,000 m2, new industry 4.0 automated production lines, and a 40% increase in production capacity.

New executive office spaces have also been created, with their interior design developed and curated by architect Alessandro Zuccolo. It was a project informed by generating synergy between industry and local territory, finding a balance between indoors and outdoors, and achieving comfortable workspaces.

EXPANSION

ECO-SUSTAINABLE FACILITIES

The extension was designed in an environmentally sustainable way. The factory is classified with energy class A4 and its roof was built with ONDAL insulation panels and a 156-kW photovoltaic system.

All the energy produced by the photovoltaic system is consumed by the Maddalena S.p.A. factory, contributing around 20% of the company’s energy needs.

During 2023, thanks to contributions from the regional call for tenders PR ERDF 2021-2027 – Action b2.1, which grants non-repayable subsidies to SMEs for the use of renewable energy, an extension of the photovoltaic plant will be carried out. This work will enable the installation of an additional 151 kW, doubling the total power. Thanks to this operation, Maddalena S.p.A. continues to promote energy efficiency, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and contribute more significantly to environmental protection.

In addition, the car park outside the new office area is also equipped with charging stations for electric cars, an incentive to sustainable mobility.
