Global market research and consulting firm Frost & Sullivan has awarded Maddalena the 2017 Global Smart Water Meter Technology Leadership Award.

The Frost & Sullivan award is based on independent analysis of smart metering with respect to the needs of the utility industry.

According to the analysis, communication is a key element for implementing smart metering systems. In this field, LPWAN technologies for Internet of Things (IoT) applications are a perfect solution. They combine low consumption and long-range transmission, thus providing effective communication and overcoming the limits of traditional remote reading technologies.

In the near future, LPWAN technologies will play a key role in the market not only because of the advantages of data transmission, but also because they enable the creation of smart water networks, which can be integrated into wider smart city networks.

It is in this context that Maddalena has developed the first multi-protocol solution for utilities. The ARROWwan radio modules support new LPWAN technologies and are designed for implementation on water meters to turn them into IoT end points.

Frost & Sullivan has recognized Maddalena’s capacity to innovate. In established markets such as utilities and water meter reading, technological innovation is the key to remaining competitive and ensuring long-term success.

After almost a century in business, this important acknowledgment confirms that Maddalena is taking the right approach for the future.
