Updated ARROWWAN 169 MHz wM-Bus and 868 MHz LoRaWANTM radio range

A pioneer in the introduction of low power wide area network technologies in the field of water metering, and with over 450,000 modules installed in the past two years, Maddalena presents its new generation of compact and separate ARROWWAN radios.

These new products feature a range of significant improvements.

The two compact radios ARROWWAN MVM 169 MHz and 868 MHz, for DN 15 to DN 40 Maddalena positive displacement meters, feature a new antenna and a standardized housing. The length of the antenna, equal for both versions, is the same as that of the previous version of the 868 MHz module. The 169 MHz version, therefore, features a significant reduction in height. This change provides increased performance and a more effective signal irradiation diagram for both versions.

The two separate radios ARROWWAN 169 MHz and 868 MHz, for meters with built-in pulse emitters, are compatible with the entire Maddalena range of water meters and feature a new standardized housing. This results in improved performances. Both the compact and the separate versions of the ARROWWAN 868 MHz radio modules are compatible with the latest version (1.02) of the LoRaWANTM data communication protocol specified by the LoRa Alliance. The new articulated bracket provided simplifies the installation in different positions.

Both the compact and the separate versions of the ARROWWAN 169 MHz retain their dual mode functionality allowing both mobile and fixed mode data collection. For mobile data collection, a new Android software is now available for fast drive-by reading using map views and meter geolocation.

Both the compact and the separate versions of the ARROWWAN 169 MHz radio modules introduce compatibility with the new French Afnor E17Z V2 specifications.

The new radios will be available from April.
